Henan University of Science and Technology (HAUST) is located in Luoyang, well-known as the thousand-year ancient capital and the peony flower city, which is also the sub-center of the city cluster in central plains of China.

HAUST is a model university of Deepening Educational Reform of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, a national-level Continuing Education Base for Professional and Technical Personnel, the first rank of Scientific and Technological Achievements Transformation and Technologies Transfer Bases accredited by the Ministry of Education. It’s also one of the three key comprehensive universities in the high-level construction project of Henan Province. In 2022, HAUST ranked 94th among Chinese universities and 3rd in Henan universities by Airuishen Alumni Network. In the 2018 World University ranking released by Scimago, an American journal information analysis platform, it ranked 120th among universities from mainland and 3rd from Henan. So far, there are 8 first-level doctoral authorization points including Management Science and Engineering, 6 disciplines including engineering have entered the top 1% of ESI in the world, 3 disciplines have become national defense characteristic disciplines, and 3 disciplines have been selected as characteristic key discipline construction disciplines (group) in Henan Province. 28 disciplines are provincial-level key disciplines. The university was one of the first universities recognized by the Ministry of Education to enroll international students. It has carried out exchanges and cooperation programs with more than 200 international universities and institutions in the countries including USA, UK, Russia, Canada, and Australia. Overseas undergraduates, graduates, and language students from 20 countries have enrolled at the university.

The predecessor of the school of management of Henan University of Science and Technology is the department of industrial management engineering of Luoyang Institute of Technology, which was founded in 1983. The school of business was established in 1994, renamed the school of economics and management in 2002, and the school of management was established in 2009. The college has a complete talented personnel training system from undergraduate to master and doctoral degrees. There are 6 undergraduate majors (Accounting, Marketing, Tourism Management, Information Management and Information System, E-Commerce, Business Administration), 1 double degree major (Marketing), 2 second degree majors (Accounting, Information Management and Information System), 2 first-level academic degree masters (Management Science and Engineering, Business Administration), 2 professional degree masters (MBA and MPAcc) and a first-level doctoral authorization point in Management Science and Engineering. Among them, the undergraduate major of E-Commerce and Tourism Management are the national first-class undergraduate major, Business Administration is a provincial first-class undergraduate major. In addition, the college also has teaching resources such as provincial-level characteristic majors, provincial-level teaching teams, provincial-level excellent teaching grassroots organizations, provincial-level high-quality online open courses, and provincial-level virtual simulation demonstration projects. The MBA education center of Henan University of Science and Technology is affiliated to the school of management.
